Job Title: Phlebotomist.
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled, compassionate Phlebotomist to join our diagnostic laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a comfortable patient experience while collecting high-quality blood specimens across all age groups (neonates through geriatrics) to support accurate provider diagnoses and patient treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specimen Collection: Perform precise, high-skill venipunctures and capillary draws with minimal patient discomfort across diverse patient populations (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
- Patient Identification & Labeling: Positively identify patients and accurately label all clinical specimens in strict accordance with safety policies and laboratory identification protocols.
- Laboratory Information System: Use computer systems to register, accession, and process specimens accurately.
- Clinical Knowledge: Demonstrate expertise regarding various needles, anticoagulants, specimen handling, order of draw, and specific test preparation requirements.
- Patient & Operational Support: Greet patients in a professional manner, answer phone inquiries, assist with specimen processing, and support inventory stocking and supply management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated phlebotomy experience [Required].
- Population Experience: Demonstrated proficiency collecting specimens across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations [Required].
- Certifications: Active Phlebotomy Certification (e.g., CPT via NHA, ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) [Required].
- Core Competencies: Excellent venipuncture technique, strong patient identification/labeling accuracy, customer service skills, and basic computer proficiency.
