JOB TITLE: Analyst – BCB Credit Risk Modelling
SALARY: £36,224
LOCATION(S): Leeds, Bristol or Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time, 35 hours
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in the office.

What you’ll be doing:
As an Analyst in the BCB Credit Risk Modelling team, you’ll help develop and maintain models that support important business decisions across Business and Commercial Banking.
You’ll work with data that helps us add value for customers, manage risk effectively and support a safe, strong bank. Working as part of a specialist modelling team, you’ll support different stages of the model development and maintenance process – from understanding regulatory requirements and turning them into analytical problems, through to exploring modelling approaches and helping build effective solutions.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems and using insight to support better decision-making across the business.
In this role you’ll:
Develop and maintain prudential capital or impairment models for retail and commercial banking customers
Use coding languages (SAS and Python) for data manipulation and analysis
Work with Risk and Finance business partners to ensure projects meet regulatory and business requirements
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including internal governance and implementation teams, to deliver effective analytical solutions.

What we’re looking for?
A strong applied knowledge of statistical modelling e.g. regression or decision trees
Proficient in a coding language (e.g. SQL, SAS, Python) to manipulate data and produce insight using predictive analytics techniques. Training and support will be provided for the specific tools required for the role
Ability to present techniques & findings in a clear, visual manner to support senior business partners decision making, including non-technical colleagues.
And any experience of these would be great:
- Practical experience in capital or impairment credit-risk modelling techniques and methods is desirable
- Experience delivering projects as an individual or as part of a wider team.
