Project Purchasing & Process management Manager

KONE DM Purchasing is a global organization of KONE Purchasing responsible for direct materials sourcing, with the mission to continuously improve KONE product and service competitiveness, strong quality performance and risk mitigation skills.
 

We are now looking for a Project Purchasing & Process management Manager located in Kunshan, China.

In this role you will work to drive MP, MOD product cost competitiveness, continuous improvement, liaison between FL, SL and purchasing organization to ensure on-time delivery of defined measures. Designing, optimizing, standardizing, and governing procurement processes across the organization. This role ensures purchasing activities are efficient, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with company objectives. The manager drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports digital procurement transformation, manages procurement policies and procedures, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance end-to-end purchasing performance. The purpose of this role is to ensure quality and competitiveness of KONE solutions to maximize the value of KONE Customers.

This role reports to China DM Purchasing Director.

Main responsibilities:

Project Purchasing Management:

• Lead and manage all project-related procurement activities, including Major Projects, Modernization (MOD), special projects and other non-standard requirements within DM purchasing scope.
• Partner closely with Frontline, Supply Chain, KTI, and suppliers to ensure project delivery, cost competitiveness, quality and on project timing.
• Responsible for BoM cost, sourcing strategy, supplier selection, and contract management for project procurement activities.
• Acting as project manager inside of purchasing organization, to identify and mitigate supply, quality, capacity and commercial risks throughout project execution.

Data/Performance Governance

• Act as the data governance owner of the department, ensuring transparency, compliance and effectiveness across procurement activities.
• Maintain department-level KPI management, purchasing dashboards and performance reporting mechanisms, providing actionable insights for management decision-making covering key purchasing projects, savings initiatives, supplier performance reviews and strategic activities.
• Act as coordinator of internal controls to ensure purchasing processes, policies and controls are consistently implemented and followed across the organization.

Lead Process & Digitalization optimization

• Analyze procurement workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data quality and increase process automation.
• Lead continuous improvement of purchasing processes, tools and digital platforms to enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
• Establish and monitor process controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

1)10+ years in Sourcing skills and experience

2)Knowledge and previous experience in elevator/escalator business is preferred

3)Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Engineering or Supply Chain Management

4)Good negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills

5)Customer oriented, self-motivated and ownership, teamwork, resourceful and logical in problem solving

6)Relevant supply chain and sourcing project management skills

7)Analytical and strategic thinking, change management skills

8)High energy/integrity

9)Ability and willingness to travel

10)Excellent level of English is mandatory
