In your pivotal role as Senior Financial Analyst, you will lead complex financial analyses to evaluate the viability of strategic initiatives, financial plans, and program investments. Working with a high degree of independence, you will apply financial principles and analytical rigor to build decision-ready reporting, monitor program performance, and support successful project implementation.Duties/Tasks
- Develop and deliver complex financial models and analyses to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Assess the financial feasibility and risk of proposed plans, programs, and initiatives.
- Translate financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for a variety of stakeholders.
- Create reports, dashboards, and performance monitoring tools to track results post-implementation.
- Partner cross-functionally to support planning, forecasting, and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of relevant financial analysis experience.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Academic research finance experience, including managing grant funds.
- Successful completion of Vanderbilt Health’s Vanderbilt Program in Research Administration Development (VPRAD) certification program.
- Experience using AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot and/or Claude).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develops projections to model the financial impact of programs and projects. Supports efforts of customers to sustain results from program and project implementation. • Investigates and analyzes financial transactions and/or regulations in support of programs and projects, and/or reviews monthly results and budget variances. • Designs, develops, and modifies financial forecasting models and simulations for programs. Accumulates and analyzes data from existing or established databases. • Presents financial, statistical, and operational reports. Analyzes budget impact of implemented programs/projects and provides input for financial projections. • Analyzes and reports on the effects of proposed federal and state statutes and regulatory actions which may impact financial planning. • Analyzes future trends and indicators in related areas of interest.
