Job Title: Distribution Engineer - NJLocation: Hamilton, NJPOSITION DESCRIPTIONAlpha 3 is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support electrical utility and private distribution projects. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work schedule. Three days per week (typically Tuesday-Thursday) are expected to be in the office and two days per week from home. Preferred office location Hamilton, NJ. Other locations may be available, depending on the candidate’s qualifications.RESPONSIBILITIESApply knowledge and experience to analyze, evaluate, and create new designs and drawings and revise existing designs and drawings for electrical distribution systems. Perform and create field reviews, sketches, CADD, and GIS design. Use knowledge of components, arrangements, and standards to complete design packages for aerial and underground electric distribution lines and provide guidance to designers and drafters.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSUndergraduate degree in electrical/electronics engineering or a closely related fieldMaster’s degree in electrical power engineering or at least two years of relevant experience2+ years of experience in the design of electric utility distribution systemsP.E. license or EIT with near-term ability and intent to obtain a licenseKnowledge of electric utility distribution systems including familiarity with physical characteristics, access, connection, and support requirements for poles, conductors, pad-mounted and pole-mounted transformers, disconnects, reclosers, and similar equipment.Utility distribution project experience, including:Familiarity with clearance requirementsKnowledge of construction traffic controlKnowledge of common network configurations and componentsKnowledge of electrical codes including NEC and NESCKnowledge of CADD and GIS toolsAbility to understand and incorporate comments and feedbackAbility to adapt to various client standards and proceduresAbility to work on a team and on multiple projectsExcellent communication skills to coordinate with clients and interface with engineers and vendorsPersonal time management skills and ability to adhere to deadlinesAttention to detail and pride in work product quality.Salary will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.Available benefits include:Health/Dental/Vision (75% of premiums company-paid)401(k) (5% company match) 10 Paid Holidays 20 Paid-time-off daysAlpha 3 is focused on delivering management and technical services to companies that own, operate, or develop infrastructure assets, particularly in the energy industry.
