Position Overview

A growing organization is seeking a Carrier Solutions Representative to join its Carrier Solutions team. This role will work closely with operations and regional leadership to manage and strengthen the carrier network within assigned markets.

The ideal candidate is energetic, competitive, relationship-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where communication, problem-solving, and follow-through are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers within assigned markets.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to secure freight 24+ hours in advance.
  • Follow established processes to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Manage daily tasks, phone calls, emails, and ongoing communication with carriers and internal teams.
  • Utilize established carrier networks to offer available freight.
  • Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with carriers.
  • Recruit and develop qualified carriers to expand the carrier network.
  • Support both new and existing carrier relationships.
  • Monitor carrier performance and hold carriers accountable to established KPIs.
  • Utilize carrier scorecards to evaluate and manage performance.
  • Communicate market conditions that may affect capacity, pricing, and service.
  • Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, terms, and renewals.
  • Collaborate with carriers and internal teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with developing and strengthening long-term carrier partnerships.
  • Ensure operational responsibilities are properly reviewed and assigned.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both carriers and internal partners.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls and emails.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 3 years of related experience may be considered.
  • Additional relevant training and certifications will be considered.

Preferred Experience

  • Transportation, logistics, freight, or supply chain experience is a plus.
  • Experience in customer service, sales, account management, recruiting, or negotiation is beneficial.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is based in an open-office environment where employees communicate frequently by phone, email, and messaging platforms.

The role primarily involves desk-based work, including operating multiple computer screens and managing inbound and outbound communications. Occasional standing, bending, or lifting of items up to 10 pounds may be required.

Schedule & Travel

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday.
  • Typically 40+ hours per week, depending on business needs.
  • Some flexibility outside standard business hours may be required.
  • Minimal to no travel expected, with occasional travel for conferences, training, or company events.
