The Role

As a Backend Developer, you will play a key role in building scalable, high-performance e-commerce solutions on the Shopify platform. We are looking for an experienced developer with 5+ years of backend development experience and strong expertise in Shopify, JavaScript, Liquid, and Node.js.

You will work closely with project owners, solution architects, QA engineers, and technical leads to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions for our clients.

Role Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project owners, solution architects, QA teams, and tech leads to deliver high-quality, high-performance e-commerce solutions within client timelines and budgets.
• Design and implement backend solutions following Shopify best practices.
• Write elegant, scalable, secure, and high-performing code on the Shopify platform.
• Participate in story refinement, requirements analysis, and technical solution design.
• Develop solutions based on user stories and technical requirements.
• Work with Shopify APIs, including GraphQL and REST, as well as third-party APIs and integrations.
• Develop and maintain backend integrations between Shopify and external systems and services.
• Work with Shopify webhooks and event-driven integrations.
• Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
• Create clear and maintainable technical deliverables, including technical designs, documentation, and prototypes.
• Apply secure development practices and adhere to established coding and architectural standards.
• Identify and address issues related to architecture, performance, code quality, integrations, and development processes.
• Collaborate on technical improvements and initiatives proposed by architects and technical leaders.
• Troubleshoot and debug backend issues across Shopify applications, integrations, APIs, and production environments.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with backend or full-stack technologies.
• Strong experience in Shopify backend development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Liquid, and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus.
• Experience with Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility.
• Experience working with Shopify APIs, including Admin API and Storefront API.
• Strong experience with GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
• Experience developing and consuming third-party APIs and integrations.
• Knowledge of Shopify webhooks and event-driven integrations.
• Solid knowledge of Shopify concepts, including products, collections, orders, customers, metafields, and metaobjects.
• Knowledge of Git and source control management.
• Experience with package and build tools such as npm, Webpack, and Gulp.
• Understanding of Core Web Vitals and web performance best practices.
• Basic understanding of technical SEO principles.
• Experience with responsive web development and frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience working in Scrum environments.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Advanced English level.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience with Next.js or Remix.js.
• Familiarity with functional programming concepts.
• Experience working with other e-commerce platforms.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Mocha, Jasmine, or Jest.
• Understanding of Server-Side Rendering (SSR) methods and Headless CMS solutions.
• Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based development environments.
• Experience in e-commerce consulting or client-facing projects.
