Job Summary:
The Sr. Accounting Manager establishes financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information; managing staff.
Job Expectations:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the general accounting department staff
Establish internal controls over reconciliations to comply with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements
Ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance; participate in implementation, ongoing monitoring, testing and evaluation of internal controls regarding corporate matters
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information, including the completion of all balance sheet account reconciliations
Manage accounting related activities for domestic and international subsidiaries as well as intercompany transactions.
Manage prepaid, accruals, advertising related spend and related accounting entries.
Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures (i.e., robotic process automation) and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures
Review audit requests and ensure accurate, timely and complete date to the auditors
Supervise general accounting staff to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and system functions to ensure enforcement of proper accounting methods and policies
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
Special projects and workflow process improvements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
Attention to detail and accuracy
Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skillsMust be proficient with spreadsheets, documents, presentations
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
Equipment Knowledge:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
SAP ERP experience preferred
Blackline experience preferred
Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) experience required
Experience Requirements:
Generally requires a minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of general accounting experience with at least four (4) years in a supervisory role.
Public Accounting experience required
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
CPA license is required

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this role is $165,000 - $175,000 USD.
