SUMMARY:
As a welder you will perform MIG welding as well as manage machines that manufacture and repair metal structures. To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of welding machinery equipment. The successful candidate will also have a steady hand and outstanding attention to detail.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform MIG welding, loading, and unloading weld fixtures.
- Move parts from station to station.
- Robot fixture tending.
- Support manufacturing to achieve safety, productivity and quality targets through process design, optimization projects and Kaizen initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong work ethic, on-time attendance performance, with a high degree of reliability is required to be successful in this role.
- Good mechanical aptitude and skills required.
- Must interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.
- Enough physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs. repeatedly); standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, working overhead and operating motorized equipment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
Education / Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) required
- Must be able to pass welding certification within 30 days of hire.
- 2 years manufacturing welding experience, preferred.
- Prior ability and experience to read blue prints, required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
100% of your time is on the manufacturing facility floor. This position requires employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast paced environment. No travel is required in this role.
