Description

The Lincoln County Surveyor's Office is currently looking to hire a Cadastral Surveyor OR a Survey Technician 2.

$78,009.00 - $104,836.00 annually*
*Lincoln County follows Oregon Pay Equity laws in reviewing education and experience for wage offer.

Supervises and exercises professional judgment in the performance of field and office survey work including control surveys; cadastral and boundary surveys; topographic surveys, right of way surveys, corner restoration and geodetic computations:

Assist County Surveyor in developing corner preservation program. |
| Review surveys, partition plats, subdivisions, and condos under ORS 209.250 and 92. |
Utilize Global Navigation Satellite System in the design and implementation Geodetic Control Network, including establishing control monuments, organization of field personnel and equipment, and operating satellite surveying equipment:

Research property records, deeds, maps, surveys, field notes and information kept in Surveyor’s Office, Clerk's Office, Assessor's Office, Road Department, timber companies and other governmental agencies such as BLM, BPA, Oregon State Forestry, for pertinent information relevant to on-going survey projects. |
Respond to questions from the public regarding professional and technical survey topics:

EDUCATION
Bachelors with major courses in Surveying, Geomatics, Forestry Engineering, or similar Surveying field.
EXPERIENCE
Four-Five years of survey experience
Will review any satisfactory combination of education, course work, experience, and training as required for licensure as a professional land surveyor in Oregon.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Oregon.
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
Desirable Qualifications: CWRE, CFEDS, and FAA part 107 certifications preferred.
Knowledge of/Ability to:
- Extensive knowledge of Oregon State Plan Coordinate System.
- Extensive knowledge of Public Land Survey System.
- Extensive knowledge of cadastral and geodetic surveying principles.
- Statutory and common law applicable to surveying.
- Survey records, record organization, and history.
- Cursive writing (1800s style to present).
- Use field and office surveying instruments and CAD drafting.
- Complete topographic surveys.
- Conduct research and write legal descriptions.
- Read construction plans and related materials.
- Operate hand and power tools; excavate soil, pavement, and concrete; 4x4 driving; and move equipment over rough terrain.
