Caterpillar’s EMD division is hiring for Technology Regulatory Compliance Engineering Specialist in Peoria, IL.
 

Role Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineering Specialist to join our global Product Compliance & Support team in Substance Compliance. This team helps ensure continued market access for Caterpillar products through compliance with global environmental, chemical, and product regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will support Caterpillar's global substance compliance programs by assessing regulatory requirements, evaluating compliance risks, responding to customer and regulatory inquiries, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to maintain the data, processes, and documentation necessary to demonstrate compliance and support business objectives.

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

  • Assess the impact of global substance compliance regulations on Caterpillar products and operations.
  • Partner with product groups to identify compliance requirements, evaluate risks, and support achievement of global substance compliance obligations.
  • Develop compliance guidance documents, declarations, procedures, and standard work to support global substance compliance programs.
  • Support customer, regulatory, and internal substance compliance inquiries and declaration requests.
  • Collect, validate, and manage compliance data from suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Improve compliance processes, systems, and data governance to support global regulatory requirements.

    Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks associated with regulatory requirements, products, materials, and supplier data to support continued market access and reduce business risk.
  • Data Gathering & Analysis
    Ability to collect, validate, analyze, and synthesize data from multiple sources to support compliance assessments, customer requests, regulatory reporting, and informed decision-making.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking
    Ability to evaluate complex regulatory requirements, analyze impacts, and develop practical compliance solutions that balance regulatory obligations with business needs.
  • Collaborating
    Ability to work effectively with engineering, purchasing, suppliers, legal, sustainability, customers, and regulatory stakeholders to drive compliance outcomes and resolve complex issues.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail
    Ability to perform work with a high degree of precision and ensure the quality, consistency, and integrity of compliance data, declarations, and regulatory documentation.
  • Product Development Best Practices
    Understanding of product development processes and the ability to integrate regulatory requirements into product design, sourcing, and lifecycle activities to support compliant products and market access.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in product compliance, substance compliance, product development, chemical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to independently drive complex compliance initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating across cross-functional and global teams.
  • Experience working with suppliers and supply chain partners to collect, validate, and manage technical or compliance data.

Additional Details

  • Work location: Peoria, IL
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for this role

  • Travel: Up to 10% domestic and international.
  • This position requires 5 days per week in the office (M-F)

 

 

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
