Pay: $20.00 per hour
Guaranteed Pay: Minimum of 35 hours per pay period
Schedule: On-Call | Must be available for varying days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Build a Career in Rail & Terminal Operations

Road & Rail Services is hiring a dependable Ethanol Transload Operator to support our Tampa Port operation. This position is responsible for the safe transfer of ethanol between railcars and tanker trucks while following established safety, environmental, and operating procedures.

This is an outdoor, physically active industrial position and is not a traditional Monday-Friday job. Employees must be comfortable working around rail equipment, tanker trucks, transfer equipment, and hazardous materials.

The position operates on a 100% on-call schedule with 24/7 availability required. Actual working hours will depend on customer and operational needs. However, employees in this position are guaranteed a minimum of 35 paid hours per pay period, even when actual call-in hours are lower.

What You'll Do

As an Ethanol Transload Operator, you will:

Connect, monitor, and disconnect equipment used to transfer ethanol between railcars and tanker trucks

Climb approximately 20 feet to access, inspect, secure, and seal tank cars and trucks

Prepare ethanol for transfer using processes such as heating, sparging, and sampling

Complete required inspections before, during, and after product transfers

Maintain accurate logs, transfer records, and other required documentation

Operate tractors, carts, and other small equipment throughout the facility

Perform basic mechanical tasks such as battery replacement and oil changes

Wear required PPE when handling hazardous materials, including respiratory protection and hazmat suits when necessary

Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with environmental requirements

Follow applicable company, customer, OSHA, FRA, and EPA safety procedures

What We're Looking For

This position requires the ability to walk up to 10 miles during a shift, lift up to 60 pounds, climb to heights of approximately 20 feet, and work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

You must also be willing and able to wear all required PPE, including respiratory protection and hazardous-material protective equipment.

Because this operation supports customer needs around the clock, dependable 24/7 on-call availability is an essential requirement of the position.
