Description

What You'll Do

The Conversion Strategy and Experimentation Manager turns web performance signals into clear hypotheses, structured experiments, and actionable recommendations. This role strengthens the existing conversion rate optimization program by increasing bandwidth for test reports, monthly conversion reporting, experiment workflow management, and quick-turn analysis across priority web experiences.

This role improves how Avalara uses data, experimentation, and user experience insight to make better digital decisions. It helps teams identify which pages and experiences to optimize, define user experience requirements, increase experiment throughput, and improve the quality of recommendations that support business outcomes.

The role also gives the experimentation function more scale. It complements existing subject matter expertise by adding capacity for performance monitoring, test ownership, Adobe Target configuration, pre-launch quality assurance, reporting, and analysis. The result is a more consistent path from opportunity identification to implementation and learning.

This role is fully remote and will report to our Director, Digital Experience Strategy

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Identify conversion opportunities across priority web experiences by using web analytics, behavior analytics, experimentation data, site search signals, and partner input.

  • Translate performance signals into clear hypotheses, user experience requirements, experiment plans, and decision recommendations.

  • Own experiment performance monitoring for assigned experiments and identify follow-up actions based on results.

  • Use a framework for identifying pages and experiences to optimize, with focus on top paid and unpaid landing pages and quick-response experimentation.

  • Manage assigned experiments from ideation through test planning, Adobe Target configuration, pre-launch quality assurance, launch support, analysis, and reporting.

  • Partner with Revenue Marketing to understand goals, prioritize requests, and define the business question each experiment or optimization effort should answer.

  • Partner with Revenue Operations when conversion signals suggest routing, lead flow, or qualification issues, while keeping routing ownership with Revenue Operations.

  • Support the monthly conversion rate optimization report and test reports, using artificial intelligence where it improves speed, quality, or insight.

  • Provide quick-turn analysis support, with focus on Contentsquare and other approved analytics tools.

  • Identify opportunities to improve site search through Coveo insights and related user behavior signals.

  • Support cookie consent A/B testing to increase the total population available for experimentation and analysis.

  • Partner with Digital Production to improve experiment implementation workflows across Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Target.

  • Share experiment learnings, patterns, and recommendations so teams can make better decisions across future digital experiences.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in conversion rate optimization, digital strategy, experimentation, web analytics, product marketing, digital experience, or a related field.

  • Experience using data to identify optimization opportunities, form hypotheses, and recommend business actions.

  • Experience supporting or managing A/B testing programs, including test planning, launch readiness, performance monitoring, and reporting.

  • Experience with Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics, Contentsquare, Coveo, or similar experimentation, analytics, behavior analytics, or site search tools.

  • Experience defining user experience requirements for web experiences, landing pages, or digital journeys.

  • Experience partnering across marketing, operations, production, analytics, and stakeholder teams to move work from idea to implementation.

  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to explain test results, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly.

  • Ability to use artificial intelligence tools to improve speed, quality, analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency while applying responsible, secure, and ethical practices.
