Purpose:
The Material Management Specialist should working closely with the Operations & Maintenance teams, and he will be responsible for managing the facilities spare parts inventory and consumables in order to maintain an optimized balance between plant costs and equipment unavailability, understanding the costs of capital in inventory, which is in line with business needs.
Nature & Scope:
The Material Management Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day support, maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient management of the bill of materials and the warehouse inventory through the use of SAP.
Also, he will work closely with internal and external resources and insure the scope of work is executed in a safely and reliably.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safety:
Provide & maintain a safe work environment. Demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent all injuries.
Technical and General Responsibility:
- Build the Bill of Materials (BOM) as provided by suppliers and enter the data and stored location into SAP.
- Determine the correct level of spare parts once the facility is operational based on in country availability of parts to meet the business needs.
- General plant provisioning including ‘zone’ store set up and management.
- Provide warehouse support during the commissioning of the plants. Maintain accurate inventory control.
- Provide warehouse input as required for scheduled outages to Management.
- Understand environmental regulatory requirements.
- Support overall construction and commissioning activities.
- Insure company standards and best practices for warehouse management are met.
- Optimize stock levels.
- Manage shipment and control of facility spares inward & outward.
- Manage the stock replacement program.
- Manage stock inventory check program.
- Emergency transport arrangements with vendors.
- Provide training and support in “hard goods” inventory management methods and SAP transactions.
- Manage the safe storage of capital spares both onsite and offsite.
- Ensure to comply with company safety, health and environment standard, fulfil the mandatory safety requirement and activities.
- Ensure warehouse activities are executed in compliance with EH&S requirements.
- Contribute to the development of EH&S related procedures in support of warehouse activities.
- Supervise and assist warehouse contractors with all sites related activities assigned to them, ensuring the safety and reliability philosophy is followed.
- Working with the operations and maintenance teams understand plant issues and execute cost effective solutions for resolution to meet the customer’s satisfaction on safety, reliability, product quality, and flexibility on product supply.
- Provide support during turnarounds (TAR), insuring spares and materials are available to the site team.
- Emergency response required 7 days a week/ 24 hours a day.
- Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal and communication skills are essential to the position (Credibility and respect across the organization is important).
- The incumbent works closely with operations and maintenance teams to insure alignment with operational objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of warehouse and inventory management works related experience.
- Diploma/Bachelor Degree (In Business OR Engineering OR Technical disciplines).
- Forklift operation with a valid driver’s license to operate and train people is plus point.
- Proficiency in English & Arabic (Reading and Writing).
- Knowledge in SAP (ERP System).
