About the Opportunity

Marathon Electric is seeking motivated and driven engineering students to join our Summer Engineering Internship Program. This hands-on internship provides real-world experience in a manufacturing environment, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to meaningful projects that impact our business.

Location: Onsite in Wausau, WI

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00/Hour

We are currently hiring:

• Quality Engineering Intern
• Mechanical Engineering Intern
• Manufacturing Engineering Intern
• Product Management Intern

Throughout the summer, interns will work closely with experienced professionals and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to our products, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

At the conclusion of the program, each intern will present a capstone project showcasing their contributions and learnings.

What You’ll Do

• Support engineering or product-related projects within manufacturing, operations, or product development
• Assist with process improvements, data analysis, and problem-solving initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain
• Participate in continuous improvement activities (lean manufacturing, efficiency gains, etc.)
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making
• Present findings and recommendations as part of a final capstone project

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
• Rising sophomore, junior, or senior preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

In this business area, our focus is the market of single phase motors for durable consumer goods, such as washing machines, air conditioners, water pumps, among others.

Paints and Varnishes
In this area, which includes liquid paints, powder paints, and electro-insulating varnishes, we have a very clear focus on industrial applications in Brazil and are expanding to Latin America and other regions.
