Description
At Sonos we want to create the ultimate listening experience for our customers and know that it starts by listening to each other. As part of the Sonos team, you’ll collaborate with people of all styles, skill sets, and backgrounds to realize our vision while fostering a community where everyone feels included and empowered to do the best work of their lives.
This role is located on-site at one of our offices
This position is office-based, meaning regular in-person collaboration or use of office equipment is essential to maximize effectiveness for this team and/or position. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our New York office and should expect to be in office 5 days per week.
Sonos is a sound experience company making it easier than ever for millions of listeners around the world to play more, hear more, and feel more. We’re seeking a studio manager and coordinator for Sonos’ new Creative Studio and Performance Space in NYC, The Bureau of Psychoacoustic Messaging (BPM for short). This position will be the backbone of our studio space in NYC - creating a welcoming environment for influencers, press, artists, and staff, and helping coordinate events at the studio on a daily and weekly basis.
About BPM
BPM — short for Bureau of Psychoacoustic Messaging — is the newly formed in-house creative engine for Sonos — the team behind brand campaigns, social content, and cultural moments that bring the Sonos listening experience to life. We move fast, think culturally, and care as much about how something feels as how it looks.
We're opening a new creative studio and performance space in SoHo, where we'll invite artists in for live performances, listening sessions, and film screenings.
What You’ll Do:
Space & Operations
Oversee day-to-day operations of both floors including the creative team workspace, conference room, kitchenette, and performance space
Manage vendor relationships, facilities maintenance, and supply inventory
Ensure the space always reflects the Sonos brand at the highest level
Artist & Talent Relations
Coordinate incoming artist performances and residencies end-to-end — booking, hospitality, technical setup, and post-visit follow-up
Serve as a point of contact for visiting talent and their teams
Assist the Sonos Radio Principle Curation Manager and the Global Events and Operation Manager in building and maintaining relationships with artist managers, labels, and booking agents
Influencer & Brand Partnerships
Manage influencer visit logistics including product demos, content creation needs, and brand experience flow
Collaborate with marketing on activations and social content opportunities within the space
Team Support
Support the on-site creative team with workspace needs, conference room scheduling, and day-to-day office operations
Foster a studio culture that feels both productive and inspired
Technical Oversight
Assist Workplace tech counterpart as needed in maintaining and troubleshooting all Sonos audio equipment throughout the space
Ensure sound systems are performance-ready at all times
What You’ll Need:
Education
Bachelor's degree
Experience
2+ years experience in a creative, production, or studio operations role
Experience working within a creative team — agency, in-house brand studio, design firm, photo/video production
Project management or production coordination background
Core skills
Project management — tracking timelines, deliverables, budgets, and multiple concurrent projects
Organization & multitasking — juggling schedules, resources, and competing priorities across a creative team
Communication — liaising between creatives, clients/stakeholders, vendors, and leadership
Visitor/vendor coordination — booking influencers, press, photographers, stylists, printers, contractors, etc.
Software proficiency — Google Creative Suite, Google Sheets, Google Calendar and Google Docs especially, Adobe Creative tools, Figma
Studio-specific knowledge
Understanding of creative workflows (design, photo/video production, content creation)
Familiarity with production logistics — studio space booking, equipment/gear management, shoot scheduling
Proficient understanding of contracts, licensing, or rights management (for photo/video-heavy studios)
Soft skills
Problem-solving under tight deadlines
Calm, adaptable demeanor — studio environments are fast-paced and can shift last-minute
Strong interpersonal skills — often the connective tissue between creative directors, clients, and support staff
Discretion/professionalism, especially in studios working with high-profile clients or talent
Comfort with a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment typical of NYC's creative/agency/fashion/media industries
May require flexibility for early morning or evening shoot schedules
