The Global Factory Repair Organization (GFRO) serves as a strategic internal supplier to Applied Materials, providing world-class repair and build capabilities that support the Applied Global Services (AGS) network as well as critical build initiatives across our Manufacturing Business Units. The Central Repair Center (CRC) specializes in supporting the Headsmart product line, with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and industry-leading turnaround times. As part of this growing operation, the Materials Program Manager (MPM) plays a key role in analyzing material requirements, coordinating with procurement and planning teams, and ensuring material readiness to support production and repair objectives. This position will also drive continuous process improvements, implement operational efficiencies, and collaborate across functions to maximize throughput, optimize inventory performance, and enable scalable business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under direct supervision, forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers. Provides input to outsourcing decisions by performing make versus buy analysis. Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Participates in Materials Core Team and coordinates product development process deliverables with team members (buyers, planners, production control).
• Supports the creation, releases, and updates to new project materials strategy.
• Participates in commercialization (transition) materials plan. Participates in the material change control change process. Assists in supplier price and delivery negotiations; under direct supervision may negotiate contracts as necessary. Utilizes the preferred supplier selection and assessment process when selecting suppliers. Completes supplier risk assessment on critical and unique parts. Monitors supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost).
• Works with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts and inspection requirements. Assists in developing supplier and commodity road maps to engineering.
• Meets cost obejectives and resolves quality issues. Generates and publishes Key Process Indicators (KPI). Tracks total landed costs targets.

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in production control, materials planning, inventory control, or related operations roles.
• Hands-on experience with production control and materials management in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP experience highly preferred).
• Familiarity with MRP systems, inventory management, and shop floor control processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage data and resolve material or process issues.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating and cross-covering responsibilities with team members.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey material status and operational updates.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment, including occasional physical activity (lifting, moving materials, standing for extended periods).
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain system/data accuracy.

Salary Range:

$60,000.00 - $77,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
