Description
We are looking for a Cinematic AI Creator (Contractor): a filmmaker who works in generative models rather than with a crew.
You will produce the cinematic work that demonstrates what our AI can do, including multi-shot sequences, launch films, campaign pieces, and genre and style showcases. You will also translate film craft into product. The camera language, lighting setups, film stocks, genre looks and transitions you work with are what our cinematic video features need to offer users. You will define those cinematic directions for the team to productise, and set the quality bar for the video work we ship. You will work closely with Product, Creative and Engineering, and will be among the first to test each new video model we get access to.
Please note that this is a Full-time Contractor (6 months) role.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Direct and produce cinematic AI content end to end: concept, story, shot list, generation, edit, sound and final delivery.
- Build multi-shot sequences with consistent characters, wardrobe, world, lighting and geography across cuts.
- Design each shot deliberately: lens, framing, blocking, lighting, colour and grade, and camera movement.
- Create the hero shots and set pieces that anchor a launch, and the showcases that demonstrate stylistic range.
- Define cinematic directions, including camera moves, lighting setups, film stocks, genre looks, transitions and VFX beats, specified clearly enough to be productised.
- Prototype new cinematic capabilities and prove what is possible before it becomes a feature.
- Set and document the quality bar for the video work we ship.
- Test each new video model on release, reporting on strengths, failure modes, prompt behaviour, motion quality and temporal consistency, and track where AI filmmaking is going.
What You'll Bring
- A body of work: film, series or episodic work, commercials, music videos, short films, branded or short-form content; whatever best shows your craft, alongside AI-native work.
- Deep understanding of visual storytelling: story structure, plot, pacing, shot design, blocking, performance and the edit.
- Command of cinematography fundamentals (cameras, lenses, lighting, colour, grading, composition and camera movement), and the vocabulary to direct them precisely in a prompt.
- Hands-on experience with generative video models and how they behave in practice, and with the image models that feed them.
- Prompting skill for video: motion description, camera control, identity and style preservation, and first/last-frame and reference-driven workflows.
- End-to-end post capability in editing, grading and sound, and the ability to run a full production cycle alone.
- Awareness of internet culture and what makes cinematic content travel.
- The judgement to hold a quality bar, including on your own work.
- Fluency in English.
Good To Have
- Background in VFX, animation, motion design, concept art or 3D (Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Nuke, Unreal).
- Experience directing hybrid productions that combine live footage with generative work.
- ComfyUI or node-based video pipelines, and LoRA or character-consistency training.
- Interest in shaping AI creative tools rather than only using them.
- A public presence as an AI filmmaker or creator.
