MJH Life Sciences is looking for an Human Resources Specialist to join our People Operations team. The HR Specialist will be responsible for being a key partner in supporting our department leaders and their teams through strategy, execution, employee relations, performance management, compensation, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), and employee engagement!
Key Responsibilities
Understand strategic business objectives and educate business leadership on HR best practices such as talent management, employee engagement, performance optimization, succession planning and other HR functions
Conduct meetings with assigned departments and leaders on an ongoing basis to discuss and strategize the best way to support business and professional development needs
Provide guidance to manage and resolve employee relations issues as they arise
Help maintain a positive work environment and contribute to employee engagement
Ensure accurate record-keeping and data management related to HR activities
Handle confidential HR documents and information with discretion.
Address employee questions and concerns, providing guidance and solutions.
Complete employee relations and administrative tasks throughout the associate lifecycle including exit interviews, stay interviews, terminations, FMLA discussions, and HRIS business process tasks
Guide leadership in team and individual development, compensation review, and goal setting on an ongoing basis
Utilize HR knowledge to collaborate closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase effectiveness and retention
Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
Complete other HR team special projects as needed
Experience and Skill Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree required
2+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a high-growth, high change environment
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and resources, meet deadlines, and be flexible to changing priorities.
Collaborative team player with strong sense of urgency, drive and passion to take ownership of projects.
Proven ability to manage extremely confidential information
Possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs of employees in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
AI Capability Expectation
Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they use AI in their day-to-day HR work. This includes:
Practical ways you have used AI tools in HR work such as drafting job descriptions or communications, summarizing policy and documentation, screening support, data cleanup and reporting, or answering routine employee questions
How you decide when AI is appropriate for a task and when it is not, particularly where employee data, confidentiality, or sensitive matters are involved
How you verify AI output before it reaches a candidate, employee, or manager
How you have picked up new tools and shared what works with teammates
Bonus: an example of an AI-assisted process improvement you initiated, and the time or quality benefit it produced
Compensation Range:
$60,000 – $70,000 annually, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for this position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
