- Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.
- Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.
- Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit.
- Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.
- Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership.
- Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments.
Job Requirements
Required
- One (1) year of recent critical care experience (exception: applicants without the requisite experience may be considered if they have a strong cardiac background (e.g., cardiac telemetry, CIU, PCU, step-down, or IMC units) and appropriate current training in arterial/venous sheath and compression device management or general anesthesia recovery.)
- Registered Nurse: CA,
- BLS through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred
- Cardiac ICU RN experience within an acute care setting.
