About the Role
Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, consolidation, analysis, and reporting of financial information supporting budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and business performance monitoring across AIA Philippines Group entities as assigned. The role provides financial insights through variance and trend analysis, supports IFRS 17 and local reporting requirements, and contributes to process automation, reporting enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Success in the role is measured through quality of analysis, accuracy of reporting deliverables, adherence to reporting timelines, and contribution to process improvementsRoles and Responsibilities:
FP&A — budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis (50%)
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of IFRS 17 OPAT annual budget schedules and periodic forecast files in accordance with methodologies, assumptions, and templates prescribed by AIA Group Finance
- Consolidate inputs and supporting materials and commentaries for the variance analysis of IFRS 17 actual performance vs. budget vs. forecast from various areas for reviewer sign-off before submission to AIAPH Group Controller, CFO and executive committee packages, as directed
- Prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and periodic outlook updates covering earnings, profitability, and key financial performance indicators under local reporting and regulatory frameworks.
- Analyze actual, budget, and forecast results to identify key performance drivers, emerging risks, and business opportunities, and provide actionable insights to support management decision-making and business performance monitoring.
- Develop an understanding of key insurance business drivers, including premium growth, persistency, acquisition costs, claims experience, and profitability metrics, and incorporate such insights into forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis activities.
- Maintain and enhance forecasting models in accordance with approved methodologies; identify data anomalies, reconciliation breaks, and reporting inconsistencies, and coordinate timely resolution with appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide technical financial analysis and support during business discussions, projects, and management reviews as requested.
Reporting & consolidation support (30%)
- Prepare and validate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc management reporting schedules covering Premiums, Total Weighted Premium Income (TWPI), Variable Expenses, and other assigned business performance metrics.
- Consolidate reporting inputs received from multiple stakeholders and perform completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness reviews prior to management submission
- Investigate reporting variances, reconciliation items, and data quality issues and coordinate resolution with relevant teams to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting
- Support the preparation of management reporting packages, executive presentations, financial dashboards, and performance reviews as required
- Assist in ensuring consistency and integrity of financial information across reporting submissions and management reports
Projects, Process Improvements and Business support (20%)
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance reporting and forecasting processes to improve operational efficiency, reporting quality, and control effectiveness
- Support implementation of reporting enhancements, automation initiatives, and finance transformation projects using available reporting and analytics tools.
- Represent the Financial Reporting and Analysis team in product development activities, proactively evaluate financial reporting implications, provide input on accounting treatment, and perform user acceptance testing for system implementations and enhancements
- Collaborate effectively with Finance, Actuarial, Investments, Operations, Technology, and other business units to ensure accurate reporting and timely resolution of issues.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by management to support operational and business requirements.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education and Certification/licenses
- Must possess Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in external audit, financial reporting, FP&A, insurance finance, or related finance functions.
- Big 4 audit experience is preferred (Navarro Amper & Co., Isla Lipana & Co., Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. and Manabat San Agustin & Co)
- Experience in life insurance, financial services, or regulated financial institutions is an advantage
- Exposure to IFRS 17 reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting is preferred
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/PFRS and financial reporting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis.
- Experience with SAP, Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar reporting and analytics platforms.
