Position Summary...
The Director, Automation Engineering, is responsible for program development and leading Site Engineers in our Automated Grocery Distribution Centers. This leader owns strategy, systems development, process lifecycle management, and capital planning associated with automation systems and related infrastructure.This role requires a combination of engineering expertise, continuous improvement knowledge, data visualization and simulation experience, financial acumen, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate has experience operating at the intersection of industrial equipment, alternative energy, infrastructure ownership, supply chain operations, and large-scale commercial partnerships.
The Director partners closely with Reliability, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, Product, Energy, and external suppliers to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and scalable power solutions that support network growth and operational excellence.

What you'll do...
- Lead the continuous improvement of advanced automation systems to optimize supply chain processes.
- Utilize data analysis and visualization tools to develop insights that influence strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage cross-functional teams and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery of automation initiatives.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and oversee financial evaluations to ensure return on investment and operational excellence.
- Develop and communicate strategic roadmaps for automation engineering, fostering collaboration across departments and external partners.
- Identify risks, create contingency plans, and monitor project performance to achieve value creation and process enhancements.
- Extensive experience in automation engineering, including system design, integration, and implementation within supply chain environments.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization to develop insights that influence strategic decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, manage risks, and deliver measurable business value.
- Expertise in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize workflows.
- Solid business acumen with experience building strategic roadmaps and conducting financial analyses for automation initiatives.
- Effective communication and influencing skills to collaborate across functions and drive technology adoption.
- Knowledge of mechatronics and programmable logic controllers to support advanced automation solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 5 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area. Option 2: 7years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area.
3 years’ supervisory experience.
