The Role
We are looking for a Senior Operational Risk Specialist to join the team. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for operational risk, helping our business teams identify, monitor, and mitigate risks. You’ll be instrumental in developing our risk culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving data-backed decisions that help our digital bank innovate securely.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Advisory & Expertise: Act as a strategic partner to our Business Units/Functional Lines, guiding them through the operational risk in accordance with the Bank's Operational Risk Policy and Standard, from initial identification to ongoing monitoring.
Tools & Frameworks: Facilitate and navigate the Business Units/Functional Lines in the Operational Risk Management tools like RCSA, KRI, CET, and Operational Risk Incident Management, ensuring we have clear oversight of our risk posture.
Reporting & Compliance: Facilitate our Operational Risk Reporting (ORR) efforts, ensuring aligned with BNM requirements. Design and develop Operational Risk reporting dashboards.
Risk Analysis: Critically assess into root causes analysis, mitigations, evaluate controls, and risk assessment for new products and material process changes.
Vendor Oversight: Oversee risk management for vendor/ third-party partnerships onboarding and renewal, ensuring our vendors meet our standards.
Cultural Growth: Act as an ambassador for risk awareness, helping build a strong, proactive risk culture across the bank.
Project Impact: Support the team on strategic initiatives and special projects as we evolve.
Who We Are Looking For:
Minimum 5 years of experience within banking or financial services industry, with a deep specialization in Operational Risk Management and a proven track record managing BNM ORR.
Solid grasp of BNM policy documents, regulatory guidelines and system submission requirements.
Data-driven, analytical, and have a holistic view of how banking operations and risks intersect.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
