Experienced Scratch Baker

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced baker to join our Farmer Joe's bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking techniques, food safety, and customer service. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods from scratch, maintaining inventory, and ensuring high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods from scratch. 
• Follow recipes to maintain consistency.
• Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers.
• Ensure proper food safety and sanitation practices.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supplies needed.
• Decorate and package baked goods for display and sale.

Requirements

Qualifications:

·  High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.

·  Food Handling/Safety Certification- Preferred but not required.

·  Able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

·  Experience in scratch baking.

· Must be 18 years and older.

Required Skills / Abilities:

· Displays strong creative background, able to suggest alternatives, and be open to suggestion. 

· Extensive knowledge in food safety, including knowledge of danger zone, temperature control, storage, logs.

· Expertise in baking.

· Create a positive environment.

· Able to open, close, work mid shift.

· Excellent attention to details.

· Demonstrate ability to work independently and be organized.

· Ability to multitask.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while maintaining focus and precision

· Capability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs)

· Skilled in both gross and fine manipulation

· Peripheral vision and near/far visual accuracy

· Effectively hear and respond to instructions in a bustling environment

· Manual dexterity 

· Use of step-stools and ladders as needed

· Reaching above, at, and below waist level

· Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and move fluidly around

· Comfortable working in diverse temperatures (hot, humid, cold) and tolerating moderate amounts of dust and cleaning agents

· Able to handle a wide variety of fresh ingredients without adverse allergic reactions

· Maintain stability and balance while executing tasks efficiently

· Convey instructions clearly and communicate with team members effectively, even in busy or noisy environments
