Description

- Provides confidential administrative support to the County Administrator, Deputy Administrator and Board of Commissioners. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing correspondence, conducting research projects, coordinating events, and maintaining files/documents. Serves as point of contact for each and may respond to public inquiries on their behalf.
- Responsible for the preparation of agendas for various Board of Commissioner committee meetings based on correspondence received, issues/projects in progress, and Board directives. Coordinates with County staff and departments to collect pertinent information necessary to assemble meeting packets. Ensure meeting packets are distributed to commissioners, elected officials, department heads, and other various stakeholders. Responsible for creating a media acceptable version of meeting packets.
- Processes Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests in accordance with State law. Coordinates all aspects of compiling and researching requested information, prepares the County’s response, and corresponds with the requested party.
- Maintains appointment schedules for the County Administrator, Deputy Administrator, and Commissioners. Assists with travel arrangements such as making reservations, scheduling County vehicles, and completing reimbursement travel vouchers.
- Maintains oversight of contractual agreements entered into by the Board of Commissioners or the County Administrator. Using a systematic approach, ensures contracts are up-to-date and effectively managed throughout the term of each agreement.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining content on the pages of the County’s website that Administration and the Board of Commissioners are responsible for, which includes editing and updating to ensure accuracy, consistency and relevancy. Monitor website performance and user experience, proactively identifying and correcting outdated information, broken links, or formatting issues.
- Assist with Medical Examiner case oversight and coordinates the annual Child Death Review meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the County Administrator.
Experience: Two years of progressively more responsible experience serving in an administrative support role.

- Proven ability to prioritize workload independently and adjust priorities as circumstances change.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and interruptions while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Working Knowledge of the structure of Michigan state and local governments.
