Overview

The pep+ Communications Senior Manager will play a key role on a high-visibility cross-functional team, responsible for supporting the design and implementation of PepsiCo’s pep+ sustainability agenda communications strategy and the execution of internal communications, as well as storytelling around the wider PepsiCo Positive (pep+) agenda, including Social Impact and R&D Communications. The responsibilities of this role will center around strengthening corporate reputation by elevating sustainability content and demonstrating our efforts. 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Communications & Leader Engagement, the pep+ Communications Director will:

  • Internal Communications: Lead and execute internal communications and storytelling for US social impact and employee engagement programs, working collaboratively with the US regional communications social impact lead (TBD) and Foundation Communication COE leads.
  • Determine the amplification strategy and cadence for key program launches and moments throughout the year, developing key messaging and acting as SME for NA social impact & sustainability programs-Identify conferences, awards, and external media moments for amplifications
  • Support the execution of the external communications strategy to promote our North American sustainability efforts in agriculture, climate, packaging, and water through influential media. Collaborate with global and local partners to highlight PepsiCo’s progress towards the pep+ agenda. Lead on the initial review North American press releases and work the global pep+ comms team to develop approved messaging.
  • COE and communications lead for all NA social impact and Pep+-Support the connectivity of employee engagement programs with the internal comms team; develop external facing communications, as needed.
  • Lead the annual communication strategy for NA social impact programs
  • Reputation: Support the execution of the visibility strategy for our Vice President, Foundation and North American Chief Sustainability Officer, as well as other North American leaders that positions PepsiCo executives as thought leaders.
  • Identify conferences, awards, and external media moments for amplifications.
  • Thought-leadership: Identify conferences, awards, and external media moments for amplifications
  • Work collaboratively with the pep+ internal communications team, Corp social/digital team lead, US regional communications social impact lead, MEL, Community Giving & Volunteer team, and NA Social Impact teams to develop and amplify NA social impact stories and key moments.
  • Drive the development and lead the execution of marketing and communications plans that elevate and advance the visibility of the Foundation and its program.
  • Support Internal Comms: Support internal communication of Social Impact and Sustainability in North America, including digital campaigns, as well as supporting global markets big deliverables (i.e., Change Makers series).
  • Support the PepsiCo and Foundation social media presence in collaboration with Corporate Social team and Foundation Social Lead.
  • Work collaboratively with the pep+ internal communications team, Corp social/digital team lead, US social impact media lead, MEL, Community Giving & Volunteer team, and NA Social Impact teams to develop and amplify NA social impact stories and key moments.
  • Other tasks that might be required to filled the requirements of the role in service of the above.
  • Partner with global Foundation and Social Impact team to stay close to the initiatives and form communications strategies to best engage employees in the programming and communicate initiatives.
  • Determine the associate amplification strategy and cadence for key program launches and moments throughout the year, modifying key messaging for associates identifying key social impact programs.
  • Partner with the Content Team to execute the employee communications strategy to promote our initiatives including scholarship programs, Move for Good, etc.
  • Internally amplify thought leader content being created and managed by external communications team as they support the execution of the visibility strategy for our Vice President, PepsiCo Foundation.
  • Work collaboratively with the pep+ external communications team, Corp social/digital team lead, regional communications social impact lead, Community Giving & Volunteer team, and Social Impact teams to develop and amplify stories and key moments to engage associates.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $123,500 - $206,750.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Communications or relevant degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, marketing, and/or PR.
  • Experience working with and managing agencies.
  • Experience working in science, innovation, food and beverage, or related fields.
  • Ability to think and act independently, using sound judgment, in an often ambiguous and dynamic environment.
  • Strong decision-making and resourceful, problem-solving skills.
  • Executive presence and comfort around senior executives.
  • Culturally and politically astute. Great judgment, empathy, perception and ability to ascertain a situation quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, particularly under tight deadlines and through the lens of general public, employees, stakeholders and KOLs.
  • An awareness of the challenges facing global food and beverage companies through the lens of R&D and how that extends to other functions on the team (Sustainability, PPGA, Social Impact & Foundation).
