About the role
Looking to gain real engineering experience while you study?
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at AGL Loy Yang, you will gain practical experience working alongside experienced engineers at a large power generation site. Over this 12-month placement (2 days per week), you will be exposed to electrical systems, maintenance strategies, asset management, project delivery, and operational engineering activities.
This role provides an opportunity to apply your university studies in a real-world environment while developing technical and professional skills that will support your future engineering career.
About You
Are you a current Engineering student with a passion and desire to learn about the Energy Industry? This paid placement could provide you with an opportunity to undertake meaningful employment related to your studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to Asset Engineers and Plant Engineers within their designated team.
- Apply appropriate theoretical and practical engineering methods to analyse and find solutions for plant failures and problems.
- Utilise general engineering knowledge, including methodology such as Root Cause Analysis to determine failure causes and the necessary actions to prevent recurrences.
- Manage changes to plant using the Management of Change process.
- Use engineering knowledge to advise on the development strategic plans such as Asset System Plans and maintenance plans, scope plant integrity & inspections.
What You Bring
- Current Engineering Student studying electrical or mechatronics engineering (preferably 2nd or 3rd year).
- Self-motivation and initiative, with a demonstrated commitment to providing an effective business-oriented service.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
