Job Description

As a Correctional Security Officer Unarmed in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a controlled environment through professional communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and other authorized individuals by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate within a correctional facility environment.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorization as required, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and public agency personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
