We are seeking an L2 OpenStack/Kubernetes-Container Ops Engineer to provide day-2 operational support for OpenStack and Kubernetes-based container platforms. The role is responsible for maintaining stable and reliable cloud platform services through incident management, service requests, platform administration, health checks, and standard change activities while ensuring appropriate escalation of complex architectural or control-plane issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support OpenStack and Kubernetes/container platforms in a production environment.
- Perform day-2 operational activities, including incident resolution, service requests, health checks, and routine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot container runtime, platform, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Execute standard operational changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities following established procedures.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and service health.
- Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and service records.
- Collaborate closely with Linux and baremetal infrastructure teams to ensure end-to-end platform stability.
- Escalate complex issues to specialist engineering teams when deeper architecture or control-plane expertise is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience supporting OpenStack, Kubernetes, or container-based platforms in an enterprise environment.
- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, Linux systems, and operational support processes.
- Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, monitoring, and service operations.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to maintaining service reliability.
- Ability to work within structured operational and service management frameworks.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- OpenStack administration training/certification (e.g., Red Hat OpenStack Platform Administration)
- Additional Security, Network, Storage, or Compute infrastructure certifications are advantageous
Language Requirement:
- German language proficiency at minimum B2 level is mandatory.
- The role requires the ability to effectively participate in technical discussions, incident coordination, service reviews, change management activities, and day-to-day communication with German-speaking stakeholders, customers, and operational teams.
Citizenship Requirement:
- Applicants must hold Swiss citizenship.

- Winterthur area, Switzerland
- Candidates should be based in, or regularly available within, the Winterthur region to support customer engagement, operational coordination, onsite and remote-hands activities, governance meetings, and escalation management when required.
