SUMMARY: The Packaging, Receiving Dock, and Warehouse Supervisor will supervise the activity of the DWP and support team with a variety of manual and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for supporting, adhering to, and implementing policies and assignments as directed by the management of George’s Inc.
- Maintain up to date packaging and supply inventories, track discrepancies, and investigate abnormalities in packaging and supplies used to ensure that all packaging and supplies are accounted for and that a clear path of use is maintained in the packaging inventory.
- Manage obsolete packaging within inventory and to plan for the removal/transfer of those items per packaging policies.
- Responsible for providing adequate packaging/supplies and/or support to processing plant personnel in performance of their duties.
- Communicate with production personnel, sales, scheduled and purchasing manager to anticipate future packaging and supply requirements to maintain productions and eliminate downtime.
- Check inventories, order packaging and supply needs to meet company thresholds for inventory and supplies on premise.
- Collaborate with purchasing manager and purchasing coordinator to track and manage orders and deliveries.
- Verify documentation, reporting, and communicating around dock/warehouse/packaging activities are clear and concise and outline suggesting inventory changes or level variances.
- Train shift personnel to manage the internal processes, systems, and ordering of facility packaging and supplies.
- Responsible for the storage of documents relating to dock receiving, QA incoming, packaging and supply inventories and provide any documents required by management or customer audits.
- Ensure proper storage and maintenance of equipment and materials.
- Ensure proper rotation of packaging and supplies
- Responsible for understanding and abiding by the safety rules of the company and for the reporting of any accidents or safety violations.
- Manage/track completion of monthly department training.
- Adhere to and ensure direct reports practice proper radio procedures at all times.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Required
- High school diploma or equivalent Plus 3+ years of experience in dock/warehouse experience
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
