Product Engineering is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer I who is passionate about developing high-performance platforms.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

●     Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of core site functionality using server-side templating, TypeScript, JavaScript, and different JS frameworks in a multi-region cloud environment.
●    Promote and support Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban by actively participating in regular ceremonies such as stand-up, retrospectives and sprint planning.
●    Mentor engineers within your squad (and beyond!) to help them improve their technical ability and build their profile within and outside of the organization.
●    Collaborate with your squad, Product Managers, Designers, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and articulate technical decisions and outcomes.     

 
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Basic Qualifications 
●    Proven understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles
●    Comprehensive knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating
●    Experience with modern build tooling (Vite, esbuild, Webpack) and CSS authoring approaches (CSS Modules, Tailwind CSS, Sass, or CSS-in-JS)
●    Experience building automated and unit tests to ensure quality delivery of work
●    Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies
●    Strong communication skills and attention to detail
●    A growth mindset towards learning, experience mentoring others, and a desire to give and receive feedback.
●    Experience composing and presenting thoughtful and implementable solutions to a variety of stakeholders (technical and non-technical)
●    Driven and self-motivated

Required Education  
●    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
●    Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
