About Microchip Technology

Microchip Technology is a global leader in designing and manufacturing Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions. For more than 70 years, our Mount Holly Springs facility has supported applications including satellite constellations, deep space exploration, military systems, GPS, and communication networks.

Position Summary

As a Production Specialist (Wire Bond), you will operate specialized equipment to perform precision wire bonding used in the assembly of crystal oscillators. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong hand-eye coordination, and a commitment to quality. No prior wire bonding experience is required—we provide paid on-the-job training.

Experience with sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, jewelry making, or similar detail-oriented activities can translate well to this position.

What You'll Do

  • Perform precision wire bonding on electronic components.
  • Set up and operate wire bonding equipment.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Record production and inspection data.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
    • Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Basic computer, math, and reading skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Reliable attendance and ability to wear required PPE.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Manufacturing experience.
    • Experience operating precision equipment or wire bonding machines.
    • Technical certificate or associate degree in electronics or a related field.
    • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.

    Schedule:

    • M-F, 7am-3:30pm
