Job Description:

Provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the Allina Health Home Infusion Therapy Service (AHHITS) and serves as the pharmacy enterprise leader responsible for advancing a comprehensive pharmacy infusion strategy across the health system. Serves as a strategic partner and influencer with physician, nursing, pharmacy, and operational leaders to align pharmacy infusion services with broader organizational objectives. Collaborates with pharmacy operations, clinical institutes, medical staff, nursing, ambulatory operations, payer contracting, revenue cycle, medication access, and finance to improve patient access, quality, growth and financial sustainability.

Principle Responsibilities

Strategic leadership

• Develop and execute a comprehensive pharmacy enterprise infusion strategy that aligns with Allina Health strategic, clinical, operational, and financial goals.
• Partner with enterprise pharmacy and infusion leaders to identify opportunities to expand infusion services and improve referral retention and continuity of care.  
• Collaborate with physician, ambulatory, and payer partners to optimize site-of-care delivery based on clinical appropriateness, patient preference, and financial stewardship.
• Partner with the Pharmacy Executive Committee to advance pharmacy enterprise strategies.

Operational excellence

• Provide direct operational leadership and accountability for AHHITS, including home infusion pharmacy operations, clinical services, nursing, intake, accounts receivable, and ambulatory infusion suite (AIS) operations.
• Ensures safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of AHHITS services through standardized workflows, performance monitoring, and continuous quality improvement.
• Partners with site-based pharmacy leadership accountable for daily operations, staffing, and performance of infusion sites within their areas of responsibility.
• Establishes system standards, coordinates operational improvements, and drives consistency in quality, patient experience, access, financial performance, and regulatory compliance across all pharmacy infusion settings.

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team that supports AHHITS operations and enterprise pharmacy infusion initiatives.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead through influence, relationship building, and partnership across a highly matrixed organizational structure.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to support team engagement and growth.

• Completes and conducts employee performance reviews.
• May lead or precept pharmacy resident and/or student programs.

Financial Stewardship

• Accountable for the financial performance of AHHITS, including budget development, forecasting, and operational performance.
• Partner with finance, revenue cycle, payer contracting, and medication access teams to optimize infusion reimbursement and support sustainable growth.

• Contributes to optimizing contracts and pricing strategies to maximize profitability and savings.
• Identifies new business or revenue opportunities

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Coordinates and participates in medication safety initiatives and programs.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies including the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission, Medicaid, Medicare, the DEA, FDA, HRSA, other regulatory bodies and system policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with all billing and charging practices.
• Ensures clinical standards and outcomes are evidence based.
• Provides oversight of formulary and related processes.
• Participates in systematic approach to pharmacy capital resources such as inventory, management and distribution, compounding systems, information technology and more.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• 3 to 7 years of experience with multi-site outpatient, ambulatory or hospital pharmacies
• 3 to 7 years of supervisory or management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in business or health care related area and
• Residency and/or Fellowship
• 0 to 2 years PGY2 health-system pharmacy administration and leadership residency

Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed Pharmacist - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire and
• Pharmacotherapy Certification or other specialty area preferred

Physical Demands

• Light Work:
• Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $86.90 to $120.24 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
