Metallurgical support for rail product and customers
Responsibilities
- Maintain safe and clean working environment
- Act as primary technical contact for railroad customer base
- Domestic and international travel to support rail customers and attend technical conferences
- Participate in technical committees relating to the manufacture, testing, use, and performance of our rail products
- Write reports and communicate to customers the results of quality claim investigations
- Cross-train on other metallurgist prositions within the rail program
- Ongoing progress towards attaining NDT Level 3 certification
- Obtain customer feedback to guide rail R&D efforts
- Suport other product offerings as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- B.S. in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering (or equivalent degree)
- Outstanding written and oral communication abilities, including presentation skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to travel
Preferred:
- Rail experience
- Technical sales experience in the steel industry
