Overview

Metallurgical support for rail product and customers

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and clean working environment
• Act as primary technical contact for railroad customer base 
• Domestic and international travel to support rail customers and attend technical conferences
• Participate in technical committees relating to the manufacture, testing, use, and performance of our rail products
• Write reports and communicate to customers the results of quality claim investigations
• Cross-train on other metallurgist prositions within the rail program
• Ongoing progress towards attaining NDT Level 3 certification
• Obtain customer feedback to guide rail R&D efforts
• Suport other product offerings as needed

Qualifications

Required: 

• B.S. in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering (or equivalent degree)
• Outstanding written and oral communication abilities, including presentation skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to travel

Preferred: 

• Rail experience
• Technical sales experience in the steel industry
