Department Overview
The Human Resources Department serves as a strategic partner to County leadership and provides comprehensive human resources services to support Mono County's workforce. The department oversees talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, classification and compensation, benefits administration, performance management, policy development, training and organizational development, workers' compensation coordination, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Dedicated to attracting, developing, and retaining a highly qualified workforce, the department promotes a culture of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while ensuring the County remains an employer of choice committed to serving its employees and the residents of Mono County.
Mono County, Located in California’s Eastern Sierra
Mono County is a rural region with a dynamic community of 13,000 residents located in the eastern side of California’s Sierra Nevada range. Development is increasing in the area due to the consistent growth of the town of Mammoth Lakes. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities might be:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resource management or a related field or a demonstrated equivalent in formal education and experience.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in a human resources department, preferably in the public sector. Three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in communications and interpersonal skills.
