Sr. Data Analyst
Location: Columbus, Ohio (Start Hybrid)
W2 - Open to US Permanent Residents, no C2C requests, please.
We are seeking a passionate data analyst/product enthusiast to solve data analytics problems. The Data Analyst will be part of the enterprise data analytics team focused on developing unique data-driven products.
This Data Analyst role will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of assigned product line portfolio, which includes, but is not limited to, exploring data to form requirements, leading requirements meetings with stakeholders, breaking down requirements, creating user stories, and partnering with Data Engineers to deliver data products in bi-weekly sprints.
The Data Analyst candidate is expected to be highly organized, a motivated self-starter, passionate about healthcare, skilled in distilling volumes of information, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on ambiguity, and is an avid learner seeking to develop more knowledge about healthcare trends and how to disseminate insights to executive audiences. Data Analysts on this team are proactive and think several steps ahead. If you don't have the answer, you take the initiative to figure it out.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Builds actionable data visualizations that identify areas of opportunity and help drive excellence at scale. Our primary BI platform is Microsoft Power BI
- Contributes to the development of custom metrics and reports to support operations reporting needs
- Writes advanced SQL to extract and model data from multiple databases (Databricks Delta, SQL Server, Oracle, KQL, etc.)
- Contributes to project deliverables independently with oversight by manager as needed; spans collaboration with stakeholders to the full product development cycle (data capture to BI integration)
- Informs development of data models in the enterprise data warehouse based on data visualization requirements
- Maximizes productivity and accountability through effective time management, coordination, and communication
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support the analytics team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with several stakeholders across multiple organizations

- Ability to facilitate conversations with business owners and stakeholders to understand the problem, rapidly iterate proposed solutions, and clearly present new findings/solutions

- Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and Private Insurance regulations and requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems from a four-year college or university and 5+ years of data and analytics experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Some travel required (under 25%)
- Intermediate knowledge of business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Expert level MS Excel and data visualizations required. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI required
- Familiarity with ETL processes and capabilities (e.g., Azure Synapse, DBT, Databricks)
- Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge required
- Python coding experience; data science web applications such as Streamlit, Voila, Dash is a plus
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Proven experience deriving value from data and ability to work independently
