The Role
The Lead, Capital & Balance Sheet Management at GX Bank Berhad proactively manages the bank's balance sheet, risks, and capital levels in alignment with regulatory and internal standards. This role also oversees monthly ALCO reporting, liquidity forecasting, and enhances control environments while supporting organizational compliance with regulatory changes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Drive Balance Sheet Strategy: Proactively manage the Bank’s balance sheet, ensuring all activities align with our internal policies and risk appetite.
Risk & Opportunity Management: Identify material risks and champion strategic initiatives that safeguard and enhance our earnings.
Capital Health: Lead stress-testing efforts to ensure our capital levels remain robust through changing economic cycles.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of regulatory shifts to ensure our capital and liquidity reporting meets all necessary standards.
Reporting & Forecasting: Own the preparation of monthly Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) reports, while managing daily liquidity reporting and weekly forecasting.
Governance & Controls: Build strong governance processes and continuously enhance our control environment—focusing on reconciliation, data quality, and accurate reporting.
Strategic Impact Analysis: Provide insightful analysis on regulatory changes to help the Bank adapt effectively.
Who We Are Looking For:
Minimum 8 years of working experience in Capital & Balance Sheet Management.
Preferably a qualified accountant in the Banking/Financial Services sector.
Good knowledge of ALM (asset-liability management) techniques and practices.
Comprehensive understanding of financial markets products, retail and commercial banking products.
Experience in working with cross border and functional teams.
Structured thought process and a strong analytical ability.
Good communication & interpersonal skills.
