Position Overview
Zelis is seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) to lead delivery for our Payments Technology Product division. This role will be responsible for end-to-end delivery management, technical leadership, and stakeholder alignment across multiple product teams. The ideal candidate comes from a strong .NET engineering background, has managed large, cross-functional teams (30+ members), and has deep experience delivering scalable, secure payment platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Program Management
• Own end-to-end delivery of multiple product streams within Payments Technology.
• Drive predictable, high-quality delivery across multiple Agile/Scrum teams.
• Manage delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure alignment with product roadmaps, business priorities, and regulatory timelines.
• Track and report on delivery KPIs (velocity, predictability, quality, defects, SLA adherence).
Technical Leadership
• Provide hands-on technical oversight leveraging a strong .NET / Microsoft technology stack background.
• Partner with Architects to ensure:
o Scalable, secure, and resilient payment solutions
o Adherence to Zelis engineering standards and best practices
• Guide teams on modern .NET practices, microservices, APIs, cloud-native design, and DevOps.
• Support technical decision-making, design reviews, and production readiness.
Team & People Management
• Lead and manage 30+ resources including Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, Developers, QAs, and BAs.
• Build high-performing, accountable, and motivated teams.
• Mentor Engineering Managers and Tech Leads on delivery, execution, and people leadership.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
Product & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Act as a key bridge between Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Operations.
• Partner closely with Product Owners to:
o Refine backlog
o Prioritize features
o Balance technical debt and business value
• Communicate delivery status, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
Payments & Compliance Focus
• Ensure solutions meet payment industry standards, security, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, SOC2 where applicable).
• Manage integrations with external payment partners, banks, and third-party vendors.
• Drive stability, availability, and performance for mission-critical payment systems.
Required Qualifications
Experience
• 12+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in a Technical Delivery Manager / Program Manager role.
• Proven experience managing large engineering organizations (30+ team members).
• Strong background delivering enterprise-scale product platforms, preferably in payments, fintech, or healthcare.
• Extensive experience in Agile / SAFe delivery models.
Technical Skills
• Strong hands-on background in:
o .NET / C# / ASP.NET Core
o RESTful APIs and microservices
o SQL Server / relational databases
• Experience with:
o Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
o CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
o Event-driven and distributed systems
• Ability to engage deeply in architecture and design discussions (even if not coding daily).
Leadership & Soft Skills
• Excellent people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at senior leadership level.
• Proven ability to manage complex dependencies across multiple teams and products.
• Results-driven, execution-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced product environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Payments, FinTech, Healthcare Technology, or high-compliance environments.
• Prior experience working in Product-led organizations.
• SAFe Agilist / PMP / Scrum certifications.
• Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
