Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious CDL Driver to transport mobile health fair equipment, supplies, and staff to community outreach events throughout the region. This position plays a vital role in supporting healthcare access initiatives by ensuring the safe and timely delivery of resources needed for health fairs, screenings, and wellness events.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating large commercial vehicles, a strong commitment to safety, and the flexibility to support event logistics as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely operate a large commercial vehicle, including a tour-style bus or mobile health unit, in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Transport staff, equipment, supplies, and materials to health fairs, community outreach events, and healthcare-related programs.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs and documentation.
- Ensure the vehicle remains clean, fueled, and in good operating condition.
- Coordinate travel schedules and routes to ensure timely arrival at event locations.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and securing equipment and supplies.
- Monitor vehicle performance and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Comply with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Represent the organization professionally while interacting with staff, vendors, community partners, and event attendees.
- Support event setup and breakdown activities as needed.
- Adapt to changing schedules, traffic conditions, and event requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B, as required for the vehicle operated.
- Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurability requirements.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain one.
- Minimum of two years of experience operating large commercial vehicles preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe vehicle operation practices.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds of equipment and supplies.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating large buses, coaches, mobile medical units, or specialty commercial vehicles.
- Experience supporting mobile healthcare, community outreach, or event operations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently enter and exit the vehicle.
- Ability to load, unload, and move equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
