Trucking & Logistics Manager | Brooklyn, NY · $200K + Significant Profit Sharing
About the Role
A privately held business running deliveries across the tri-state area is bringing its logistics operation in-house. Currently relying on a third-party logistics provider that isn't delivering the level of service its clients deserve, the company is looking for a hands-on trucking and logistics leader to own the function outright — building the systems, the fleet, and the vendor relationships from the ground up. Reliable, on-time delivery is this company's competitive advantage, and this role exists to make sure it stays that way.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Dispatch Operations
- Dispatch trucks and manage daily delivery schedules across the tri-state area
- Oversee truck leasing arrangements and fleet needs
- Manage insurance requirements for the fleet and operation
Team Leadership
- Lead, manage, and support the driver team
- Take full ownership of the logistics function and its performance
- Ensure clients consistently receive timely deliveries and top-tier service
Optimization & Growth
- Identify opportunities to improve service levels and reduce costs
- Build and implement systems that scale with the business
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors
- Support warehouse moves and related operational projects
Qualifications
- Proven experience dispatching trucks
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage drivers and hold a team accountable
- Highly organized, responsible, and comfortable taking full ownership
- Experience with truck leasing, insurance, and vendor management
- A track record of optimizing operations and driving cost savings
