The Field Specialist II is responsible for the installation, retrieval, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems and associated equipment. This role plays a critical part in supporting customer operations by ensuring equipment reliability, maximizing well productivity, and delivering exceptional technical service in compliance with Baker Hughes standards and customer requirements.
As a Field Specialist II, you will be responsible for:
• Installing, pulling, inspecting, and testing ESP systems and associated surface equipment in onshore and offshore operations
• Supporting commissioning activities for Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and other surface production equipment
• Monitoring ESP performance, identifying operational issues, and supporting troubleshooting activities to maximize equipment run life and well productivity
• Performing power cable splicing and ensuring equipment integrity throughout installation and operation processes
• Collaborating closely with customers, supervisors, technicians, and operational teams to ensure successful execution of field activities
• Generating accurate service reports, operational documentation, and technical recommendations following service delivery standards
• Managing field assignments independently when required while maintaining the highest levels of safety and service quality
• Supporting special projects and continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency and customer value
• Following Baker Hughes HSE policies, legal compliance requirements, quality standards, and Core Values in all activities
• Maintaining effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on operational objectives and service expectations
To be successful in this role you will:
• Have experience with Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems and associated production equipment
• Have experience performing ESP installations, pulling operations, troubleshooting, testing, or cable splicing activities
• Have a degree or technical qualification in Industrial, Electronic, Mechanical, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline
• Demonstrate strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Be able to manage day-to-day field operations in dynamic and challenging environments
• Have experience ensuring compliance with HSE and Quality requirements
• Demonstrate accountability, integrity, resilience, and a strong commitment to operational excellence
• Possess intermediate English and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
• Be willing to travel frequently and support domestic or international field assignments as required
