Job Summary:
Our Safety and Security Supervisors play an integral role in continuing our park's daily operation by providing safety and security to all guests and employees. Team members must have computer experience and excellent communication and guest service skills.
The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: November/December 2026 - March 2027Pay: $21.00/hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility of the security patrol function at assigned location.
- Provide assistance, support, supervision and training to the Area Security Officers with the Area Security Manager.
- Perform all duties toward the goal of maximizing customer service and safety.
- Review daily, the security logs and incident reports and follow up on any issues.
- Requires the ability to make sound decisions based on relevant information.
- Patrol assigned buildings and grounds to observe and identify potential safety/security risks.
- Project a positive, customer service-oriented demeanor when interacting with employees/visitors.
- Respond to emergencies and assist in implementing emergency procedures within assigned location and lead site staff during critical situations within scope of training.
- Observe, report, and document any violations of policies, rules, regulations, and laws governing the location.
- Perform or assign monthly fire extinguisher or other safety related inspections, for timely completion.
- Review performance of the Security Staff using tools such as the HIG (How’s It Going?) form and determine what action needs to be taken – coaching, mentoring, training, etc.
- Coordinate with HR and Location Management to schedule and complete random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy and all applicable state and federal laws.
- Act as an ERG (Emergency Response Guidelines) member while on duty.
- Perform various duties related to ensuring continued excellent internal/external guest service.
- Maintain liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement/fire agencies regarding security or fire/safety issues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures as well as standards of conduct, ethics, attendance, punctuality and appearance.
- Perform all duties in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Have basic computer skills to include familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Have or be able to obtain CPR, first aid, and AED certification through the American Heart Association. (Paid training available through Xanterra Parks & Resorts).
- Successfully pass a background check as well as a pre-employment drug test.
- Be a proficient typist, averaging a minimum of 30 words per minute.
- Demonstrate maturity, a professional demeanor, good judgement, diplomacy, objectivity, and sound conflict/crisis intervention and problem-solving skills for managing employee or guest relations and complaints.
- Maintain positive employee relations and morale by practicing sound leadership and human relations principles, setting a good example in attitude and personal actions to always promote teamwork.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess basic computer skills to include familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Ability to learn company computer programs used for such tasks as incident reports and daily logs, payroll and ordering supplies from the warehouse.
- Review daily logs and incident reports for content, clarity and completeness, including grammar.
- Have or be able to obtain CPR, first aid, and AED certification through the American Heart Association. (Paid training available through Xanterra Parks & Resorts)
- Be able to obtain BAT (Breath Alcohol Technician) certification and be trained in oral drug and alcohol testing procedures. (Paid training available through Xanterra Parks & Resorts)
- Ability to present training topics to Security Staff and other departments or employees.
- Be able to effectively perform duties in highly stressful or crisis situations and work under pressure without the loss of composure.
- Delegate daily tasks and shift-work for regular completion.
- Always maintain and project a professional attitude and appearance.
- Coach and mentor staff on a regular basis throughout season and provide training opportunities and feedback.
- Requires the ability to communicate professionally and effectively via two-way radio, cell-phone and any other means with a diverse population of employees and guests.
- Be able to quickly learn the layout of the assigned location, established policies and procedures, and location specific duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a hospitality or resort environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory position preferably in the Security, Loss Prevention, Fire or EMS fields.
- Knowledge of company structure and policies helpful.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be willing and able to work any shift (day, swings, and overnight). Actual shift hours will depend upon staffing level and the needs of the security department and business operation.
- Primarily, swing shift to aid in the absence of Area Security Assistant Manager.
- Must be able to work continuously up to twelve hours.
- Must be able to work on a rotating schedule.
- Requires frequent standing and foot patrol for up to twelve hours.
- Must be flexible with scheduling, working a variety of shifts in a single week based on the needs of the location being overseen.
- Requires occasional climbing, sitting, stooping, bending, and/or kneeling. Could total up to two hours per shift.
- Must be able to respond in a safe and prompt manner to emergent situations.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds without assistance. Ability to lift more than 40 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to shovel snow/gravel during times of inclement weather.
- Must be able to lift to 40 pounds infrequently (e.g. assist emergency medical personnel with loading/unloading patients into and out of ambulances).
