PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - 2nd shift

We are seeking a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift at the Dessert Holdings facility in Le Center, MN.

The ideal candidate will not just be someone who supervises the work of others. The Production Supervisor will also be responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between hourly associates and plant management. The Production Supervisor will oversee and monitor the performance of production operations as it relates to quality, safety, productivity, sanitation, customer service, and waste control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with employees, leads, other supervisors, and managers on a daily basis to resolve technical problems, scheduling conflicts, equipment issues, and employee concerns.
• Focus on driving safety, quality, and productivity ensuring company standards.
• Participate in quality audits and ensure employees are GFSI trained and utilize the training and knowledge to produce safe quality food.
• Provide training, leadership, motivation to team members to ensure SOPs are adhered to and GMPs are followed.
• Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to hourly associates.
• Prepare and present daily direction through huddle meetings with hourly team members.
• Monitor and prioritize workflow of production to meet deadlines.
• Check production output according to specifications and recommend continuous improvement ideas.
• Submit performance reports and identify issues in efficiency, while maximizing resources.
• Leverage continuous improvement tools to eliminate loss, optimize processes, and improve reliability.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma required (a degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field will be an advantage)
• At least one (1) year of experience in food manufacturing or manufacturing
• At least two (2) years of supervisory experience or several years as a lead employee providing direction to others
• Lean training/certification at any level is a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
• Flexibility to work other shifts to include extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed
• Ability to read and write in English and to write reports legibly and accurately 
• Basic to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Superb leadership and problem-solving
• Good communication skills, hands-on attitude, professional manner required
• Understanding of compliance with government regulations relating to OHSA and FDA preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch and climb steps
• Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or use objects, tools or controls
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
• Required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, something may weigh than 50 pounds and assistance must be utilized
