Description

Supports the College Mission and serves students, employers, and the College community by providing quality job skills training in a safe, clean environment.  Acts as the liaison between the students, the College, the local medical community, and the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.  Assures completion of course goals following College and Bureau policies. Coordinates the services of a variety of professionals to provide a variety of high quality group and clinical instruction.

  1. Provides Instruction.   
  2. Ensures EMS Bureau course standards are met.
  3. Insures that all necessary instructors are present prior to the start of each class.
  4. Insures that all equipment required for teaching is available and in working condition.
  5. Implements approved curriculum.
  6. Cooperatively develops and monitors a budget.
  7. Creates and supports the Advisory Committee.
  8. Fosters a productive learning and training environment.
  9. Encourages and exemplifies professionalism and good work habits.
  10. Maintains and implements a classroom management plan consistent with College policy.
  11. Interacts with students in an atmosphere of open communication.
  12. Nurtures partnerships.
  13. Promotes job readiness and assists students in finding employment.
  14. Builds and maintains a healthy program.  
  15. Coordinates with the PR / Marketing Department.
  16. Works cooperatively within the College Community.

Completes other related duties as assigned

  • Knowledeable in all aspects of pre-hospital emergency care.
  • Utah EMT certification and one year of experience as an EMS instructor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Utah Advanced EMT certification as well as Course Coordinator certification, or willingness to obtain Course Coordinator certification within 6 months of hire.
