Overview
The Lane Closure Technician (LCT) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of roadworkers, crews, and the public by setting up, maintaining, and removing traffic control measures across various work zones. The role involves leading traffic control persons, setting up traffic control zones, giving clear directions to motorists, and modifying controls as work scopes change. LCTs must comply with all health and safety regulations, participate in accident investigations, and conduct traffic control at special events. Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of BC LCT experience, a current TCP certification, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and knowledge of WorkSafeBC Regulations.
