Overview
The Personal Care Specialist works in an inpatient hospice setting to provide compassionate end-of-life care to patients and support to their families. Key responsibilities include assisting patients with daily personal care activities and comfort measures, supporting families with patient care needs and education, observing and reporting changes in patient condition, maintaining accurate electronic documentation, and promoting a safe, respectful environment. The role involves collaborating with clinical staff to deliver individualized care plans during night shifts (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM) with every third weekend required. Candidates must have a high school diploma, Ohio State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred, at least one year of healthcare experience, basic computer proficiency, valid driver's license, and ability to pass background and drug screenings.
