Apparel Graphic Designer

Our client is a purpose-driven apparel and lifestyle business with an established presence across local and international markets. They specialise in developing and delivering high-quality branded apparel and sportswear, combining creativity, innovation, and market insight to create products that resonate with diverse audiences. They are seeking a versatile and creative Apparel Graphic Designer to join their dynamic team in Parklands, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on designer who enjoys translating written briefs and customer insights into compelling apparel graphics and marketing materials. Working closely with Product Development, Sales, and Marketing teams, the successful candidate will contribute across a diverse portfolio of both internationally recognised and proudly South African brands. Reporting directly to the General Manager and CEO, this role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, high-performing environment where creativity, initiative, and continuous growth are highly valued. Responsibilities: Apparel Graphic Design • Design original apparel graphics for products including T-shirts, hoodies, outerwear, and other garments, aligned with seasonal themes and brand identity. • Create production-ready artwork, including tech packs, technical drawings, CADs, and sketches. • Redraw logos and develop trims, labels, hang tags, and packaging assets. • Prepare files for various apparel production techniques, including screen printing, embroidery, and sublimation. • Apply feedback, revise concepts, and finalise artwork for production.

Product Development & Collaboration • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Merchandising, and Marketing teams to ensure designs are commercially viable and production-ready. • Participate in critical path meetings and ensure timely delivery of design outputs. • Track and manage the approval process from concept development through to final sign-off. • Coordinate with external suppliers, including printers, agencies, and other service providers where required.

Marketing & Visual Communication • Design and layout marketing collateral, including brochures, catalogues, lookbooks, and other print materials. • Create and optimise product imagery and promotional graphics for e-commerce platforms and online stores. • Develop visual presentations and catalogues to support the Sales team. • Ensure all visual assets maintain brand consistency and align with established design standards.

Research & Asset Management • Research apparel trends, consumer preferences, print techniques, and competitive insights. • Manage seasonal colour palettes, CAD libraries, and digital design assets. • Maintain and organise the internal digital filing system and ensure effective version control of all design materials.

Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Art, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years experience in apparel graphic design. • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience across apparel and branding design. • Proficiency in CorelDRAW (essential), Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and CAD tools. • Solid understanding of apparel construction, textile printing methods, and pattern development. • Experience preparing artwork for various apparel production techniques. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), Google Workspace, and basic project management tools. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
