Our Insurance practice is looking for an experienced Director or Senior Manager to help deliver and grow our Health Insurance and Insurance Technology Transformation capability.

Baringa helps insurers define their strategy, deliver complex change and modernise their platforms, data and operating models. We are growing our presence with leading UK health insurers and developing a cross-Baringa Health Insurance proposition. At the same time, we are building our Insurance Technology Transformation capability to support Global P&C carriers and clients across the wider Insurance sector.

As a Director or Senior Manager, you will combine Health Insurance expertise with strong technology transformation experience, client leadership, programme delivery and business development. You will lead complex workstreams and engagements, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, support the development of client opportunities and help grow our people, propositions and market profile. Your primary focus will be our Health Insurance agenda, but your skills will transfer to our Global P&C and wider Insurance technology transformation work.

What you will be doing

  • Leading Health Insurance and Insurance technology transformation engagements and complex workstreams from initial assessment and design through to implementation
  • Building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, including CEOs, CIOs, COOs, business leaders and operational and technology teams
  • Assessing operating models, technology estates and change portfolios, and translating findings into prioritised roadmaps, business cases and practical improvements
  • Advising clients on market trends, emerging technology and AI, leading practice and the design of target operating models
  • Shaping and delivering technology-enabled transformation, including platform modernisation, core system migration, data re-engineering and re-architecting insurers' operating and technology models
  • Managing multidisciplinary teams, engagement plans, risks, budgets and delivery quality to achieve strong client outcomes
  • Supporting the origination, shaping and conversion of Health Insurance and wider Insurance opportunities and contributing to proposals and account development
  • Developing market-relevant propositions, credentials, thought leadership and go-to-market activity, including Baringa's cross-firm Health Insurance proposition
  • Raising the visibility of Baringa's Health Insurance and Insurance Technology Transformation capability through client conversations, industry engagement and internal collaboration
  • Coaching and developing consultants and managers, providing clear direction, constructive feedback and inclusive leadership
  • Working collaboratively across Baringa's sectors and capabilities to bring the best of the firm to clients and identify broader opportunities
  • Applying your transformation skills flexibly to support Global P&C and other Insurance sub-sector opportunities as client demand requires

Your skills and experience

  • Strong understanding of the Health Insurance landscape, and the strategic, commercial and technology drivers of change
  • A track record of managing complex technology transformation, platform modernisation, data or operating model change engagements within insurance or financial services
  • Credibility with senior client stakeholders and the ability to translate complex issues into clear decisions and practical outcomes
  • Experience managing engagement delivery, including scope, plans, risks, quality, budgets and team performance
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coaching consultants, senior consultants and managers

Desirable

  • Experience in Global P&C or the wider Insurance market, with the ability to support our Global P&C and other Insurance sub-sector transformation work
  • An understanding of insurance technology platforms, data and vendor solutions, with transferable skills to support Global P&C and wider Insurance transformation
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK Health Insurance market and its key participants
  • Experience in specific Health Insurance areas, such as claims, provider and network management or digital customer journeys
  • Experience contributing to business development, proposals, proposition development and the growth of client accounts
  • Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how to balance client outcomes, delivery quality and engagement economics
  • An existing network of Health Insurance client relationships

What a career at Baringa will give you

Putting People First.

Baringa is a People First company and wellbeing is at the forefront of our culture. We recognise the importance of work-life balance and flexible working and provide our staff amazing benefits. Some of these benefits include:

  • Generous Annual Leave Policy: We recognise everyone needs a well-deserved break. We provide our employees with 5 weeks of annual leave, fully available at the start of each year. In addition to this, we have introduced our 5-Year Recharge benefit which allows all employees an additional 2 weeks of paid leave after 5 years continuous service.
  • Flexible Working: We know that the ‘ideal’ work-life balance will vary from person to person and change at different stages of our working lives. To accommodate this, we have implemented a hybrid working policy and introduced more flexibility around taking unpaid leave.
  • Corporate Responsibility Days: Our world is important to us, so all our employees get 3 every year to help social and environmental causes and increase our impact on the communities that mean the most to us.
  • Wellbeing Fund: We want to encourage all employees to take charge and prioritise their own wellbeing. We’ve introduced our annual People Fund to support this by offering every individual a fund to support and manage their wellbeing through an activity of their choice.
  • Profit Share Scheme: All employees participate in the Baringa Group Profit Share Scheme so everyone has a stake in the company’s success.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We believe that creating an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging is central to our culture and that diversity is paramount to driving creativity, innovation, and value for our clients and for our people.

An award-winning workplace

You can be a part of our ‘Great Place to Work’ – with our commitment to women and well-being in the workplace for all. Click here to see some of our recent awards and how we’ve achieved this.

Using business as a force for good.

We maintain high standards of environmental performance and transparency, which can be seen through our commitment to Net Zero with our SBTI-verified Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reduction targets and our support of the Better Business Act. We report our progress publicly and ensure that we are also externally assessed and scored through organisations like CDP and EcoVadis - helping us to continually identify where we can improve.

We have a long legacy of supporting the communities in which we work, and offer a variety of ways to contribute, by putting people first and creating impact that lasts. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda is about giving back to the communities in which we live and work by sharing our skills, talent and time. In essence, we aim to empower and encourage everyone in the firm to contribute to the things we care about, and support registered charities and organisations with a clear social or environmental purpose to increase the positive impact they can have.
