Automation Technician

Position Summary:

The Automation Technician for Automation & Arm & Cell Tooling position is responsible for performing basic maintenance duties related to the installation, troubleshooting and repair of tooling, fixtures, shuttle tooling and tooling aids required in Hot Stamping and other production areas.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Basic knowledge and use of voltage meters, reading electrical schematics and measuring tools.

· Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production End of Arm and production cell tooling.

· Support emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

· Support in troubleshooting and repair of production tooling as required.

· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments on Automation & Cell Tooling.

· Track and perform regular preventive maintenance on above tooling and equipment and enter result into PLEX system.

· Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, sketches and schematic diagrams

· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

· Support Engineering strategic initiatives for Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

· Knowledge of robots and robot controls

· Learn and improve skills to further expertise in above tasks to include taking college courses.

· Keep work area clean and well organized in a 5S manner.

· Maintain safety standards in the workplace.

· Ensure Quality in the workplace.

· Other duties as assigned.
