Engagement Summary

Engagement Type: This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employment position, and does not include employee benefits. The expected term of the engagement is approximately 24 months, subject to the terms of the contractor agreement.

The Developer (DBA) – Pub Sales Production Team Support contractor provides support to the Production Team of Publication Sales (Pub Sales) at ANSI.  The services this engagement (estimated at approximately 21- 28 hours per week) will cover include:

SQL Catalog and related SQL DBs – tool/process development, loading and maintenance
SQL Catalog and related SQL DBs are the repository for all standards-related metadata for the Pub Sales business and related internal users.

·       Extensive on-going collaboration with the Production team on the building, refining, extension and maintenance of tools and processes to maintain and expand these SQL DBs and their data

·       Troubleshooting with daily SQL Catalog loading processes

Automated Content Distribution

·       With Pub Sales / Production team providing the input on business requirements, maintain the set of solutions that automates the delivery of content to all subscription customers (on both Legacy Standards Connect and Northstar Standards Connect subscription platforms).

New Subscription Products Maintenance and Delivery

·       With the release of Northstar subscription platform, ANSI has developed nearly 4,000 in-house subscriptions products (“Pre-Defined Collections” and “Block Collections”) that for the first time we will be building, maintaining and making available to customers via our Catalog directly in the subscription platform.  The contractor will maintain and, if necessary, extend the tools that allow for the Pub Sales team to load and maintain these products.

Northstar Customer Migration and Pricing

·       Support migration of customers on ANSI’s legacy subscription platform to the new Northstar subscription platform as follows:

·               Troubleshoot any issues with Pre-Defined Collections and Standards Blocks, as having these new products in place is a critical component of customer migration

·               Migrate customer contacts, alerts, favorites, and lists.

·               Pricing Engine Deployment for Northstar subscription platform (this is an already coded automated pricing solution)

Project Apollo – formerly Catalog Clean-Up

·       Building and testing tools that allow for the in-place manipulation of critical publisher metadata such as Document Number, Publisher Acronym, and cross-references between documents.  These tools are in the process of being designed, tested, and deployed in collaboration with the Pub Sales Production team.

Other

·       Alert Mechanisms: Maintain and troubleshoot the email alerting mechanism for web store, Legacy Standards Connect, and now Northstar Standards Connect.

·       Web Store SQL Search: Maintain the SQL Full Text Search on the ANSI Web Store.

·       Elastic Search: Support critical elements of the Elastic Search powering search on Northstar subscription platform.

·       FileOpen integrations for Web Store, Legacy Standards Connect, Northstar Standards Connect, and IBR Portal: This involves supporting the integration between ANSI’s document delivery and DRM solution from FileOpen Systems and our retail, subscription, and other platforms/sites.

·       Royalty processing solutions: Maintain the more complex elements of ANSI’s royalty landscape, including integrations with Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting solution.

·       Northstar Microservices: Database design and backend development for all non-CRM microservices.

Overall, this engagement calls for a professional developer who can understand ANSI’s publication sales processes and support the systems, databases and functions that are related.
